It's a waiting game now....

Well, I submitted my paper work to the church a while back remember, on the 9th. I am still waiting on our date. I called our church last night, they said they still had the paperwork. I am getting discouraged, I was told that it would take two weeks to process, three to get an answer, all to hear that they haven't even left the church to begin with.

I talked to Father Angelito yesterday, he said he would do his best to work on it have it sent, and try to get it back in two weeks. But to check back in one month....

It's another waiting game. The good thing though is, about that time is when our refund comes in, and it's paying for the whole wedding!!!! Whooot Hoooot!!!

I know, I know, counting my chickens before they hatch right,.... Ahhhh I just can't help but to be excited about finally getting married in church, blessing our marriage... it's something I have wanted for so long and I never thought the day would come!

AND WE HAVE FLOWERS!

Well, we have been trying to find what would look best with our bridal party, and cut costs at the same time. At first we were thinking Cala Lillies but I think we finally decided on Gerbera Daisy. The first photo is what my bouquet will look like. Colors and all. The roses will be white or Ivory and in the middle with Gerbera Pink Daisies in the middle.

Here are the bouquets for the bridesmaid and Jr flower girl. Three simple daisies. The ribbon that holds the flowers together will be pink like the dresses. Very simple but stunning.

Table flowers, I thought this was a cute set up.. I was thinking of something similar and in pink...

What do you think!?

So now we wait

This week I went to San Jose to get the divorce decree from Gabe's last marriage. That was the final paper we needed to get our approval from the church. I delivered all the paperwork to our church on Friday and now we sit and wait. Father said it should be three weeks until we hear back. I am excited!!

I talked to my good friend Olga on Friday as well, she will be my wedding too. I have been friends with her since my freshman year in high school. My cousin Sylvester and Anthony will both be in our wedding, and I found out that we are expecting a grandchild in July of 09' too. Our family is growing so fast it's unbelievable how much time has passed and it doesn't feel like it.

Our Wedding - Our Journey

For a long time since I can remember, I have always wanted the wedding of my dreams. I also wanted to be in love and always stay married. I think today's day of age, couples don't stay married for long. I wanted to make sure we were in this for the long run. We are now in 2008 married for almost 8 years and together for many more then that!

We decided to start a journey. Not just the one we had been traveling on for a while now, of matrimony, but one of faith and religion with God as well.

We have joined our church "Our lady of Guadalupe". We have started our journey in RCIA. Our children have joined Catechist classes and I am teaching as well. We decided to be like Jesus and follow his footsteps. We have also decided it was time to renew our faith in God and Love and marry in his presence. In 2009 of September (we are hoping that month) we will be married in our church we have been so active in.

Last weekend was the first day of Advent, it was such an experience. I can't wait until we receive our first reconciliation and holy communion and confirmation.

Some might ask why we were brought back to church. I can't answer for anyone but myself, but I have to say the death of my father in law brought me back to God. He was such a gracious man. Sure, sometimes, we didn't agree with what he said, but for the most part, he was very giving, very pleasant and I must say, very missed. I like to think that he visits my children and is their angel. To believe in such a thing, you have to have faith and to connect, I believe you have to let your guard down and open your heart. That's why I am back at church. Not just to learn, but to feel.

Our day, My dress My Hair Style

So this is my dress that I bought:

This will be the hair style I go with, he wants my hair down. We haven't decided on a vial or hair piece yet.

Our cake we are picking.

Wedding Party Dresses

This is the top of the dress, it has a cute bowish look to it. With pink satin fabric. We put this together at David's Bridal and my mother in law will design and sew the dresses. The MOH dress will be same colors but opposite.

The way it will look completed.

For the flower girls, my beautiful girls.... it's simple but stunning! The color is ivory with some bead work and satin fabric as well, a nice bow to add to the already beautiful dress.

Adding to OUR family.

In 1997 when Gabe and I met. We had children from previous relationships. Gabe had Gabe Jr and Eric and I had Raymond. Together we had Isabel Delphina born in 1999, Mia Bella Ayva born in 2006 and Miranda Ellie born in 2008. This is our family.

December 19th, 2000 - The day we said "I DO"

We got married back in Virgina. Very untraditional. I wore black, it rained, we were late and all we had at our wedding were our children who were born at the time (Gabe Jr., Eric, Raymond and Isabel)

We had one family there with us as our witness, The Swanson's. They were great friends of Gabe's and had lived in VA for a year prior to our arrival. We had no other family or friends at our chapel.

How it started

This is a funny story. We don't share with many people. It was back in 1997. I used to go to football with my family and Gabe was with his sons. Obviously there is an age gap between us, but love knows no age limit. I remember flirting with him lol in my "white shorts" catching his attention.

I think it was how he was very passionate about his children. Everywhere they were, he was. It wasn't often you saw a man who cared so much for his boys to be with them everywhere they were. They look up to him the same as they had when they were growing up.

I remember the day we told my mom that Gabe and I were dating. She kind of knew, but the look on her boyfriend's face, was priceless! One of them moments you wish you could catch on video.. oh wait, WE DID!

His mom was very gracious in me coming into the family. She has always accepted me from day one. I love his mom like I love my own family. Gabe was previously married to Suzette, the boy's mother, and even she was very accepting of us. I knew then that I met the right man.

I had a key role in being there for Gabe's sons as they were growing up. I call them my own. I often am asked if it feels weird that we are not so many years apart in age. But to us I don't think that's a factor at all. They've always been respectful and I have always been there to support them. This was one marriage to be made.

My wedding journal!

Well, as you know I had a blog before but decided to change things up a bit! This blog will be about the planning of our wedding!!
